CONFIRMATION
We ask God to bless our confirmandi,
their sponsors and their families, as they will be blessed with the gift of the Holy
Spirit in Confirmation this Sunday afternoon, June the 7th 2009.
A SPECIAL
We would like to show
our love and appreciation for our young people who have just BREAKFAST received the Sacrament of
Confirmation by having a breakfast after the
9:00am Mass,
June the 21st. It would also be an opportunity to show our love and respect for
our many
wonderful fathers who often get lost in the shuffle. We wound like to make this a
happy
occasion and we are hoping as many of our church family as possible will participate
in this
happy event.
MOVING IN AND OUT
Summer time is often a time of
transition for families. We want to say farewell to any people who may be leaving and
thank you for your participation in our parish. We also wish to welcome any new
individuals or families at St. Peter and we invite you to make yourselves known to us and
to register with our parish. Parish registration forms are available in the vestibule, or
call the Rectory
at
662-226-2490.
Protection of Our Children __________________________
In accordance with the
Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People passed by the U.S. bishops in
Dallas, the Diocese of Jackson wishes to encourage any victim of sexual abuse by a member
of the Catholic Clergy to come forward and begin the healing process. When an allegation
is found to be credible, counseling will be offered, so that the healing process can begin
in accord with our present diocesan policy. We encourage any victim to contact Mrs. Louise
Dillion, Victims Assistance Coordinator at 601-326-3728.

CHOOSE LIFE
Stem cell research opens new
prospects for regenerative medicine and is morally permissible when it uses stem cells
from adult organisms, but not when it takes cells from human embryos because that
invariably causes their death. (The Dignity of a Person, Congregation
of the Doctrine of the Faith, 12-08)
